Será porque dentro de tres meses ya formaré mi propia familia, o será porque echo de menos a mis padres y mis herman@s, pero la inspiración de hoy me ha llevado a crear esta página. Después de las fotos encontraras una relación del material utilizado. Y como siempre, si tienes preguntas, aquí estoy.

 

It may be because within 3 months I´ll be forming my own family, or perhaps it´s just that I miss my parents and brothers , but today´s inspiration has led me to create that page. Dulce viernes / Sweet Friday

Hola tú. Vamos a ver, sé que tengo cestas enteras de ropa para planchar, pero vete tú a saber por qué, prefiero invertir el tiempo del planchado en experimentar con postres. Así que, sí es verdad que la ropa se va acumulando, pero el placer que me procura una cucharada de postre merece la pena echar un poco más de tiempo con el planchado la vez siguiente. Hoy tocaba una crema de arroz con sabayon de caramelo y coulis de frambuesa. Muy fácil, delicioso y si quieres la receta, sólo tienes que enviarme un mensaje y te la mandaré lo antes posible. Que disfrutes!

 

Hello there. Alright, I know I have basketloads of clothes to iron, but for some reason, I prefer to use the ironing time to experiment with desserts. So, although it is true that in the meantime wrinkled clothes are piling up, the pleasure a spoon of dessert gives me is worth the extra time I´ll be ironing next time around. Today´s experiment was a rice vanilla cream with a caramel sabayon and a raspberry coulis. Very easy, delicious and if you want the recipe, feel free to send me a message and I´ll post it as soon as possible. Enjoy!

 

 

Maktub / Maktoub

Maktub o Destino. Se está acercando el año 2013 y me preguntaba que nos tiene reservado? Qué sorpresa? Qué alegría? Qué pena? Por mi parte, el mayor acontecimiento sera sin lugar a duda, si todo va bien, claro, el nacimiento de nuestro primer hijo, pero no puedo dejar de pensar que cada año nuevo conlleva nuevas esperanzas, pero también más dudas...sin embargo, quiero ser positiva y creer que todo será mejor.

 

A cerca de esta página: primero arrugue papel de aluminio antes de pegarlo a la página. Luego pinte una capa de Gesso. Después de esto van varias capas de pintura de varios colores y termine por pintar en tonos de gris una plantilla de mano de Fátima y alrededor va una mezcla de verdes y blanco. Utilice plástico de burbuja como sello,escribi un poco y voilá!

Maktoub, or Destiny. 2013 is round the corner and I was wondering what it had in store for us? What surprises? What joys? What sufferings? As far as I am concerned, the major event, if everything goes well, will be the birth of our first baby, but I can´t help thinking that every new year comes with its flow of hopes, but also of doubts...however, I want to be positive and believe that all will be better this time.

 

About this page: I wrinkled a sheet of kitchen foil then glued it to the page. I covered it first with Gesso, then with various coats of different colours. I ended using shades of greys with a handmade Fatima´s hand stencil and painted around with different greens and white. To finish, I used bubble wrap as a stamp, some black drippage and a little bit of journaling and voilá!

Dulce lunes / Sweet Monday

Hola tú!. Ya sé que estamos a jueves y no a lunes, pero es que, esta tarta, la hice para Nochebuena y no me ha dado tiempo de colgar las fotos hasta hoy. Tarta de tres chocolates con una base de galletas con mantequilla...no quedó nada de ella! Así me gusta, que la gente disfrute de lo que cocino!!! No babees demasiado delante de las fotos que luego el teclado se estropea!

 

Hello there! I know it´s Thursday today, but I made that cake for Christmas Eve and I hadn´t had the time to upload the pics before today. It´s a three chocolate cake with a base made of biscuits and butter...nothing was left of it! I love it when this happens, it shows that people enjoys what I cook! Don´t drool too much in front of the pics or else your keyboard could be ruined!

Dulce viernes / Sweet Friday

Hola querido tú. Ya que estamos a viernes y que estaba con ganas de hacer algo, me dije: y porque no hacer un postre francés...ya que soy francesa?! Admito que el día de la semana no tiene nada que ver en eso, pero alguna excusa tengo que tener para silenciar mi consciencia cuando me como un dulce. Así que allá va. Hoy he hecho algo muy conocido en mi país - además de riquísimo y super calórico: un PARIS-BREST. La masa es la de los "petits choux" o "profiteroles" y el relleno es crema pastelera casera mezclada con una especie de turrón, casero también, hecho con almedras y caramelo y...VOILÀ!

 

Hello dear you. Since we´re Friday and I felt a little bit fidgety, I said to myself: why not make a French cake...since I am French?! Right, I admit that the day of the week has nothing to do with this whatsoever, but I have to find some excuse to quiet my conscious whenever I eat something sweet. So there it is. Today I´ve made something famous in my country - as well as delicious and full of calories: a PARIS-BREST. The pastry is the same as for "petits choux" or "profiteroles" and the filling is a homemade cream mixed with a homemade nougat candy composed of almonds and caramel and...VOILÀ.

Hello there, dear you. I´ve been playing in my handmade art journal lately, painting several pages at the same time, to use overleft paints and also to keep the inspiration flowing. Hola querido tú. Hoy me he decidido por pintar una cara. Hacía mucho tiempo y quería volver a practicar un poco. Intenté utilizar pocos colores - 4 - y, bueno, como siempre, el resultado final no me entusiasma mucho, pero eso me pasa siempre. Que tengas un buen día y si tienes preguntas, aquí estoy para contestarlas!

Hola querido tú! Aquí tienes la tercera página pintada en mi art journal. Hoy no hay paso a paso, sólo fotos. Esta entrega se llama SILHOUETTES (en español: siluetas). Está hecha con pintura acrílica, rotuladores Faber-Castell, un poco de gel medium y sellos.

Hola querido tú! Hoy vuelvo con otra página que acabo de terminar en mi art journal hecho a mano. He querido hacer otro paso a paso por si las moscas y sólo espero que salga mejor que el primero. Como siempre, espero que te guste y si tienes alguna pregunta, no lo dudes!

Hello dear you! I´m back today with a new page I´ve just finished in my handmade art journal. I wanted to make another step-by-step of it, once again just in case it might interest someone and only hope it will be better than the first one. PASO A PASO / STEP-BY-STEP

 

 



PASO 1 :  pegar papeles para un poco de textura. Aquí, una página de libro, otra de música y una flor grande de papel cortada en dos. Luego pasar una mano aguada de gesso utilizando una toallita de bebe para dejar ver ciertas partes más que otras.

STEP 1 :  glue papers for some texture. Here, book page, music sheet and a big paper flower, stamped and cut in half. Then paint a wash of gesso using a baby wipe to let some bits show through well.

 

 

PASO 2 : pintar una mano de amarillo y utilizar sellos para añadir un poco de movimiento a la página.

 

STEP 2 : paint the page in yellow and stamp here and there to give some mouvement to the page.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PASO 3 : mezclar pintura azul con agua y gel medium liquido y pintar alrededor de la página, utilizando la toallita de bebe para difuminar el color un poco.

STEP 3 : mixe blue paint with water and glazing medium and paint around the page using the baby wipe to fade the colour a little.

 

 



 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PASO 4 : mismo proceso que en el paso 3 utilizando un azul un poco más oscuro. Luego, añadir un poco de blanco para resaltar los estampados y con un boli negro resistente al agua, repasar el contorno de las flores.

 

STEP 4 : same as previous step but using a darker shade of blue. Then add some white here and there and use a black waterproof pen to go round the flower and the stamps.

 

PASO 5:  imprimí el marco, la imagen de la mujer y los relojes desde la página de Milliande, aquí: Milliande art community. Añadí un poco de color a la cara, luego, con un lápiz y un difumino, fue resaltando los bordes de las flores de papel, de los relojes, del marco y de los estampados de las pequeñas flores de cuatro petalos. Tambien utilicé más sellos: de notas de música y de rombos con tinta Stazon y Distress Ink.

STEP 5: I printed the frame, the face and the clocks from Milliande´s page here: Milliande art community. I added some colours to the face, then with a graphite pen and a blending stump I went around all the elements, collage and stamps to make them stand out a little more. I stamped some more - music notes and diamonds - with Stazon ink pads and Distress Ink.

 

 

 

 PASO FINAL: pegué letras rojas para crear un contraste con el resto de la página, añadí tambien un poco de pintura roja a la página para crear un conjunto coherente, pusé un poco de sombra debajo de las letras y un poco de blanco para los reflejos de luz.

 

FINAL STEP:  I glued red letters to create a contrast with the rest of the page, adding some crimson red paint here and there to create a certain coherence to the whole painting. To finish, I put some shadows under the letters and some white for light reflections.

Hello dear you. Here are pics of the very first page painted in my handmade art journal. For the very first time - and just in case it might be of any interest to you - I´m adding a step-by-step of the process. Hope it´s clear and that you´ll like it.

Paso a paso / Step-by-step



Step 1 : collage

Pega lo que tienes a mano para dar un poco de textura.

Use whatever you have at hand for some texture.

Step 2 : Gesso

Pinte una mano de gesso. Utilice una toallita de bebe para dejar ver un poco lo que hay debajo...si lo quieres, por supuesto.

I painted a coat of gesso, using a baby wipe to let some bits show through...that´s only if you wish too obviously.

 Step 3 :

Utilice pintura acrílica azul, una vez más usando una toallita de bebe para dejar ver un poco lo que hay debajo. Una vez seco, utilice un sello imitando manchitas.

I painted a coat of blue acrylic, once more using a baby wipe to let some bits show through. Once dry, I used a clear stamps to give the idea of stains here and there.

                               



Step 4 :


Utilice pintura acrílica verde alrededor de la página dejando la parte central en azul.

I used green acrylic paint around the page, leaving the centre in blue.

Step 5 :

Hice circulitos que pinte en varios tonos de azules. Luego utilice mi boli Micron para hacer doodle alrededor de los mismos para que resalten un poco más.

I made circles that I painted in various blues then used my Micron to doodle around them to make them stand out a little more.

Step 6 :

Utilicé un viejo cepillo de diente para hacer salpicaduras de pintura azul y morada. Añadí puntitos blancos, reflejos de luz y algo de negro en la malla para que resalte el conjunto.

I used an old toothbrush to splatter blue and violet paint. Then I added white dots, light reflections and a bit of black paint over the mesh to make it all stand out a little.

Step 7 :

Pegué dos hilos negros. Imprimí siluetas de cuervos que Milliande pone generosamente a nuestra disposición aquí: Milliande´s crow silhouettes. Las recorté y las pegué encima de los dos hilos negros.

I glued 2 black threads, printed the crows silhouettes from that page: Milliande´s crow silhouettes (courtesy of Milliande). I cut them and glued them on top of the black threads.
                                                                                                                                                                            

 Último paso / final step :


 Un poco de blanco dentro de las siluetas, Distress Ink verde y marrón                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     alrededor de la página, sombras hechas a lápiz con un difumino    
debajo de los circulitos y VOILÀ !
