Good morning dear you. Last weekend we went near Rute, Cordoba, to cut ourselves from the rest of the world. And a complete disconnection it was: no phone, no computer, very little television. We spent our time reading, relaxing, chatting away, walking in the olive grove nearby and swimming in the cute pool. I took the advantage of one of these moments on my deck chair  to practice sketching and I drew the pool´s entrance wall since it was what was facing me then. Here´s the result, but before that, I wanted to tell you that that place is worth it and if you´re looking for a quiet moment far from the daily rat race, this "cortijo" is for you!

Hello dear you! Last June, 24th,  I wrote a post with pictures of a raspberry mousse I made. Well today, and just for you...drumrolls here...am giving you the recipe. Am I not great? Yes, I know I am. So there you go:

Ingredients:

150 g of black or dark biscuits. There´s a brand here called "Oreo" that works just fine. If you google it you´ll see pics. Take the white creamy bit off.
70g of butter (take it out of the fridge a little while before using it)
500 g  of cream with a 35% fat (it has to be real cold)
6 gelatine leaves or the agar-agar equivalent.
500 g of raspberry, fresh or frozen - save 3 or 4 to decorate.
The juice of one lemon
200g of sugar
1 raspberry or natural yogurt
To decorate (and only optional): 3-4 raspberries and  2-3 mint leaves.
  1. Whip cream and leave it in the fridge
  2. In a blender, mixer or whatever you have, mix the raspberry, the sugar and the lemon juice together. Pour the mix in a pan and heat it during approx. 7 minutes on medium heat, and stir nearly all the time. Then add the gelatine or agar-agar to that mix and give it a good stir. Leave it to cool thoroughly and stir from time to time (it has to be cool in the end but not set/curdled). In the meantime:
  3. Take the white creamy bit of the biscuits off. Mix the biscuits with the butter and press that mix down on a removalbe bottom baking pan (aprox. 22 cm diameter) with the back of a spoon or a glass...Save.
  4. When the raspberry mix is cold, add the yogurt and the whipped cream to it, stir well and pour it on the biscuit base. Put in the frigde for about 6-8 hours or even better, leave it overnight.
  5. Remove the edges of the mould before serving, decorate with the saved raspberry and the mint leaves or whatever your imagination says to you.

Note: You can also make this recipe using mango, strawberry, nectarine, apricots....

Hello dear you. I was able to feel your despair because of my absence here lately, so I have decided to take some time and share something with you. There´s a group on Facebook called ART ABANDONMENT uniting artists (not that I consider myself as such, but I am using that word in the sense of someone "creating" something)  all over the world around one goal: to paint, draw, sculpt something - or whatever is your cup of tea - and "abandon" it somewhere in a public place, secretly, anonymously so that somebody finds it, and hopefully, likes it and gives it a good home. Needless to say, it is free for the finder. Most of the artists who participates have online shops where they sell their arts, but they do this for free, just for the pleasure of making a surprise to an unknown person in a totally desinterested way. Last week I "abandoned" my first piece in a local bookshop. I know it has been found and only hope the finder likes it. Here are some pics of the "crime".

Este es el logotipo del grupo en Facebook / This is the group´s logo on Facebook:
